Whether you’re diving into a performance by some of Denver’s best writers or student musicians, or shopping for holiday gifts, there are abundant opportunities to support local artists this week. In addition to the usual suspects—five performances, concerts, or exhibitions that I’d love to enjoy this week, I’ve also included a listing of holiday markets where you can buy artisanal gifts for the whole fam.

✺ December 4 Enjoy the uplifting Latin sounds of Gio Chamba while immersed in Prismajic’s inventive space at ¡KUVOLE! 7 p.m. Register.

✺ December 4-5 Experience the joy of Mexican Christmas traditions at ArtistiCO Dance Company’s performance of Fiestas Navideñas: A Christmas Celebration at the Newman Center. 7:30pm. Get tickets.

✺ December 4 Learn how to make zipper pouches in Beginner Sewing with Jackie Drummond at ReCreative Denver. 6 p.m. More info and registration.

✺ December 5 Celebrate the launch of Begin Where You Are: The Colorado Poets Laureate Anthology with readings at Petals & Pages. 6 p.m. Get tickets.

✺ December 6 Come to watch Denver School of the Arts musicians—the Jazz Work shop Orchestra Big Band, Combos, and Middle School and High School Percussion Ensembles—play at DSA Bands Jazz Brunch, stay for the Winter Craft Market. 10 a.m. More info and tickets.
