Denver Arts Events April 6-12, 2026

An array of festivals and group exhibitions give us the opportunity to enjoy an incredible range of local talent this week. If I could enjoy five performances, events, or exhibitions this week, this is what I’d do. Enjoy.

✺ April 9 View frame-by-frame animated short films at the first East High School Angel Toons Film Festival at MCA Holiday Theatre. 6 p.m. More info.

✺ April 9 - 12 The Boulder International Film Festival is an intimate film festival that packs a big punch. View feature films, shorts, documentaries at theaters throughout Boulder and Longmont. Highlights include: A Sad and Beautiful World, She Dances, and A Bend in the River. View schedule and buy tickets.

✺ Through April 12 Immerse yourself in our neighbor-to-the-north’s creative talent during Boulder Arts Week. Various venues. Highlights include: CU Boulder Wind Symphony Spring 2026 Concert, 3rd Law/Theater Open Company Class, Band of Toughs Presents: Five 5ths - The Big Lebowski, and Yes &… Spring Exhibition. ✺ Through April 12 The Denver Jazz Fest brings some of the best names in Jazz to the foot of the Rockies. The fest includes over 40 shows and special events at venues throughout Denver and Boulder. View schedule and buy tickets.

✺ Through May 2 View work of 27 emerging artists at the Department of Art at Metropolitan State University of Denver’s Spring 2026 BFA Thesis Exhibition Opening. More info.
