Denver Arts Events August 17-23

Craft with beans! Paint with mushrooms! Or simply enjoy the visuals and sounds of Denver’s vibrant art scene. If I could enjoy six shows, performances, events, or exhibitions this week, this is what I’d do. Enjoy.

✺ August 20 Attend the opening reception for In the Shadows, an exhibition about the immigrant experience curated by Italu Ramos Hernandez at Union Hall Art Space. 6 p.m. More info.

✺ August 21 Learn about the pigments of mushrooms (!) with artist and author Julie Beeler at Color Stories from Fungi. Denver Botanic Gardens. 6:30 p.m. More info and tickets.
