Denver Arts Events August 4-10
Welcome to Denver Arts List, a curated list of arts events in the Mile High City. This is not a comprehensive list, it’s a selective one. If I only had five nights to enjoy a performance, concert, or exhibit, this is what I’d do. Enjoy.
✺ August 5: Join writer, educator, and owner of Petals & Pages, Dylah Ray for Tuesday Night Summer Socials: Poetry Workshop Feminist Poetry of the Second Wave at the Center for Colorado Women’s History. Get tickets
✺ August 6: Mixed Taste: K-Pop & the Keffiyeh Dive deep into conversation about K-pop and the keffiyeh with two extraordinary minds— Hyonjeong Kim Han, the Joseph de Heer Curator of Asian Art at the Denver Art Museum and Brooklyn-based photographer Marwan Shousher at MCA’s Holiday Theater. More info and tickets
✺ August 6-17: Nothing surprising here, but if you loved the flashy colors and pop ballads of Baz Luhrman’s hit movie, you’ll probably have fun at this stage production. Moulin Rouge is only at Buell Theatre for a couple weeks. Tickets for Moulin Rouge
✺ August 8: Sofar Sounds hosts intimate gatherings featuring local artists in a secret location. This week the show is at an undisclosed Union Station location with a bar. Performers are kept secret, but they’re always local, and I’ve never not had fun. Tickets for Sofar Sounds Union Station.
✺ Ongoing: Held Impermanence is an exhibit of Clyfford Still’s work curated by artist Katherine Simóne Reynolds at the Clyfford Still Museum. Learn more.
✺ Ongoing: If you haven’t already, it’s worth making the trip to Aurora Highlands to see Daniel Popper’s Umi
