Denver Arts Events September 8-14, 2025
This week, I’ve felt as though I’ve been floating through the liminal space between summer and fall. I’m still baking out in the sun at noon, but looking toward the darker explorations that come with spooky season. Similarly, some of this week’s arts events will keep you feeling as though you’re toeing the line to watch the veil thin. If I could enjoy five performances, concerts, or exhibitions this week, this is what I’d do. Enjoy.
✺ Sept. 12 Attend the opening party for Phillip Stearns’s Cursed Earth Metaphysical Supply at Understudy. 6 p.m. More info.
✺ Sept. 12 Starting this weekend, you can watch Boulder Ensemble Theater Company (BETC) perform “The Thin Place,” a play by Lucas Hnath about a medium and her client, which was a New York Times Critic’s Pick in 2019. The show runs at The Savoy through Sept. 28. Get tickets.
✺ Sept. 13 Learn how to make leaf prints like those on display in DRIFT at NKollectiv in a Leaf Printing Demonstration with Carol Till, one of the artists featured in the exhibition. 3 p.m. Learn more.
✺ Sept.13 & 14 Watch Lemon Sponge Cake Contemporary Ballet perform the world premiere of LOLA RUN, choreographed by Robert Sher-Machherndl at Dairy Arts Center. The show will be performed in collaboration with concert pianist George Lopez. These artists boast a long list of accolades, and their work is probably worth the drive to Boulder. 7 p.m. and 2 p.m. Get tickets.
✺ Sept. 14 Connect with over 85 independent creators at the Denver Zine Fest at Denver Public Library—Central Library. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Learn more.
