Denver Arts Events September 21-27

This week, we celebrate the artists at the front line of social justice, those who aren’t afraid to hold a mirror up to flawed systems. If I could enjoy nine (oh gosh, I did it again) shows, performances, events, or exhibitions this week, this is what I’d do. Enjoy.

✺ September 22 Catch an artist lecture with Enrique Lopez Llamas, whose solo exhibition, A million more things to keep me awake, opens at Black Cube this week. RedLine Contemporary Art Center 5:30 p.m. More info and tickets.

✺ September 24 Experience an immersive, comedy murder mystery in Butt Kapinski presented by Theatre Artibus at Savoy Denver. 7:30 p.m. More info and tickets.

✺ September 25 Seek justice through spoken word at the Poets for Palestine open mic at Colorado People’s Center 6p.m. More info.

✺ September 25 Attend Bans Off Our Bodies, a print show supporting Planned Parenthood Rocky Mountains at Consume & Create. 5 p.m. More info.

✺ September 26 Attend the opening for Erin Marie King’s West-Coast-inspired SALT + SEA collection at Hudson Hill Denver. 6 p.m. More info.

✺ opens September 26 Enjoy world-class botanical illustrations at Curious Companions: Fungi, Parasites and Carnivores at Denver Botanic Gardens. More info.

✺ September 27 Attend your first-ever (probably) Abstract Turntablism show, Maria Chávez PH-1187 and PH-1074: Durational Performance Installation at Clyfford Still Museum. 2 p.m. More info.
